I purchased this bedding set and the black set to mix and match. I have never had a down comforter and thought a down alternative,like the duvet in these sets, might be better. It isn't bad, but it isn't great, either. Since receiving these I bought a real down comforter on sale at a department store and the difference is amazing! Of course, so is the difference in price - even on sale - so I know to be fair I can't compare the two apples to apples. I just wanted to let folks who buy this set know that there are two issues about which they might like to be aware. First, the sheets, pillow cases, and shams become very weirdly wrinkled after they are washed and dried. It tends to smooth out, but the sheen you see in the photo is lost forever. Second, when I took the cover off of the duvet to wash it, the inside of the cover was filled with little white "pills" of fabric lint from the duvet, itself. It was quite a mess and took me a very long time to remove them. However, the bedding IS comfortable, so just be aware that the shiny new look doesn't stay new.
