3 out of 5 stars OK at first   March 23, 2007

Fun until i got bored with it & it stopped working. It worked just fine when i bought it. The problem didn't start until I decided to reinstall it a few months later and it couldn't find a certain file when i tried to install it(Friend had a similar problem). When it worked it was fun the first week or so but then after i had tried out pretty much every feature it got boreing. If you are going to buy this just because the dammage loooks good, don't. The dammage is simple. Every pannel on the car can get about one big, medium, or small dent. Whith a big collision pieces will fly off unrealisticly. If you are in a huge wreck it will just skip to the end of the race because your car is too dammaged to use and you cannot restart the race after this happens unless as soon as you crash, hit the "r" key and hit yes i want to restart. It takes forever for my pc to load the events so about 45 seconds (my pc isn't a great gaming computer so yours probably will load faster) to load and sometimes only 30 seconds before crashing. As a simulator it is great. If you want to feel like you are rally driving a race car this is the right game for you. You can tweak just about everything and the telementary feature is great. It is a dream for people who like to have a realistic driving experience. I would recommend a steering wheel for any racing game but with this game i think you will need one. It is a good game for people who like simulator games but if you like damage and simulation combined it is not a very good game for that. Buying it new it is not worth it. Buy it used and then if you are like me and get bored with it or it stops working, you won't be out a lot of money.

4 out of 5 stars No more online support   February 18, 2007

If you're looking to race online look else where because EA has stopped supporting this title and shut down all there online servers. EA bought all the rites to the nascar license and now only supports Xbox and playstation and leaves the PC gamers out in the cold.

After reading all the negative reviews and wanting to place one
(negative) myself I can only think of one thing. I hope EA is reading the feedback. But all EA cares about is sales. EA will make thier game fixes for the fingertip gamers but for all the racing puriests out there search for plan B. Its a shame a good thing like Papyrus was ruined for EA SPORTS strive for the all mighty dollar.

This is a really great game but u need love and u really liking the sport of NASCAR. It should add more road course tracks. Since most turns are left, I got tired of the game after about a week. My son is the only one who played it and he is not much of a fan of nascar.

4 out of 5 stars Last NASCAR PC Game?   January 18, 2007

The NASCAR Sim Racing game from EA Sports was the last of the PC games made in 2005. While it immerses you into the drivers seat of your favorite car, it does fall short of spectacular crashes that you may be involved in as the game automatically ends when you car is done for the day. You don't get a chance to even "limp" back to pit road and attempt a repair as compared to NASCAR Racing 2003

Also, designing your paint scheme can be a problem unless you have the trial version of Adobe Photoshop, which, expires in 30 days after install or you are able to afford the retail version. Hmm, I don't think alot of us can.

Overall, NASCAR Sim Racing is a great simulation game. The game sports a built in voice chat that you can use to talk to other sim racers when racing in multiplayer mode as well as having it set up as a dedicated server. You can choose which events you want to race in. I also like the idea of the Crafstman Truck Series although, I think EA Sports should have added more manufactures to the CTS instead of one generic LOL.

I also have NASCAR Thunder 2004 but play the NASCAR Sim Racing game alot more. I give this game a 5 star for realism, easy to configure, great graphics.
