One major criticism of this toy is that most 7-year-olds (the recommended beginning age for this toy) are fairly computer-savvy and will find the user interface on the DeskPro to be archaic. The 1-bit graphics are so rudimentary that it's difficult to make out the images. In addition, the game play instructions are not well communicated and the computerized voice is not very engaging. The DeskPro could be considered a first step for a child progressing toward getting his own desktop computer—and the price point is certainly a lot better. However, if parents are looking to purchase an educational learning system for their child, there are others available in the same price range that are far superior. --Cristina Vaamonde
