We took our 5 month old to the beach for the first time, and I was so nervous about the sun. THIS TENT WAS PERFECT! It is light weight. Easy to set up. The mesh sides give you a nice breeze, and you are protected from the sun with room to play with your little one! SO HAPPY with this purchase, we will use this for a long long long time!
one suggestion - bring an umbrella too. My husband put the umbrella next to the tent to give added shade. Depending on where the sun is, and where the breeze is you may get a little sun in the tent. The umbrella took care of this.
If you are worried about sun at the beach, park, etc - GET THIS TENT!

I was able to open, close, and put it back in the bag all by myself today when I used it at the beach for the first time so I consider it a huge success! It's a good size and did what it was supposed to. My 2 year old son liked it and so did his buddies (and their moms!). Very happy with it.
Worth bringing to the beach August 25, 2010

We used this beach shelter on our last vacation. Setup and takedown were super easy, and the rolled up shelter itself is light and easy to carry. It gives you a nice place to keep your things out of the sand and a way to get out of the sun. We didn't encounter anything more than a strong breeze, but nothing the sand pouches or included plastic stakes couldn't handle. All in all a great purchase, and we'll definitely keep bringing it with us to the beach.

We bought this for my 11 week old baby when we went to York Beach, ME for a week. I was so nervous about the sun and the wind, and purchasing a tent that would take too long to set up, especially next summer if he's walking (or rather running from me). I wanted basically everything at a reasonable price, and I'm happy to say I got it. I like that there was no flap in the front and it has two screens on either side for ventilation. if you've ever been camping you'll know that it still gets warm inside the tent. However, during 85+ heat, it wasn't too bad inside the tent. The tent is a cinch to put up and I know we were the envy of families around us. While they fought with their poles and threading things, when my baby was crying and we needed to pack it up quickly, it certainly wasn't the tent that held us up.
The only thing, it says its SPF but it didn't look like it. I expected something simliar to whats in our stroller, but in any event, no one received a burn and it did the trick. I am very happy with this purchase.
