Product Description
Mention the name Bruce Brown in any crowd and someone will reply: "He is the reason I ride." Featuring Steve McQueen with music by the famed Dominick Fronteirie this is without a doubt the quintessential motorcycle film now digitally re-mastered and loaded with never-before-seen extras. Academy Award nominated Bruce Brown highlighted this intoxicating race world filled with rugged road riders and the grueling excitement of muddy and murderous motocross daring dune riding slicing the ice and the tortuous mayhem of the Baja 1000. The grandfather of motorcycle sport filmmaking now greets a new breed of sport riders and filmmakers which include sons Dana and Wade and grandson Wes with partner T.J. Barrack - all of whom had a hand in the Bonus Features for this incredible new DVD set. Wherever a reason whatever the season Bruceand his friends for decades with familiar names like Malcolm and Mert along with the new breed of riders taking the sport to the extreme can conjure up stories and tales of how they almost made it jumped it ate it killed it or trashed it on practically every Sunday.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: DOCUMENTARIES/MISC. 3 out of 5 stars Kinda dorky   July 24, 2008
I found this movie/documentary to be rather sophmoric and goofy, but worth watching anyway. Some motorcycle magazine editors feel they have to mention this, "EPIC", tale in their respective publications every month, raving about how wonderful it is and how much it influenced their lives. I just don't see it. I grew up in the 60"s and 70"s and have been riding motorcycles for 39 years. I certainly didn't need Bruce Brown to tell me to.

must have for your collection!!!

5 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST!   June 9, 2008
I saw this movie in the theater when I was 4 years old in Las Vegas! One week later my mom got me my first mini bike, and I've been an avid off road motorcycle enthusiast since then. I finally found this movie in a video store in 1981 (10 years after first seeing it), if you like motorcycles, and the 70s, this movie is the best. Bruce Brown does a killer job putting this masterpiece together. Flattracker Mert Lawlwill, Malcolm smith, Steve Mcqueen, and a host of other stars, and future stars appear. I have viewed this movie at least once a year, since I found it in the store in 1981! Also very humorous!

5 out of 5 stars On Any Sunday   May 27, 2008
This is one of my all-time favorite docus'. I especially enjoy seeing people having good, clean fun and enjoying the company of others all together for a common purpose. As the audience watches true professionals in their trade, this time, motorcyclists, it brings something out of you and the youngsters: a good and clean desire to make the mosts of whatever life you are in. That is the reason why I have heard from several people that "even if you're not into motorcycling, you'll enjoy this film". Well done in all respects.

5 out of 5 stars Terrific Movie   February 13, 2008
