Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
2006 was the second consecutive Formula One World Championship for Fernando Alonso and his team Renault, who also won the Constructors Championship. It was also that year that 7 time world champion Michael Schumacher retired. Alonso and Schumacher and their teams Renault and Ferrari fought to the last race for the prestigious constructors title.

To analyze the technical evolution of the 2006 championship, the book illustrates the various phases of development carried out by the various teams. The engine chapter, and those on the regulations, tires, aerodynamics and chassis complete the book, with more than 300 color technical drawings, this book has become a must have for the Formula 1 enthusiast.

This is a great source of information on the construction and design of modern Formula One cars. Highly recommended.

I've been reading these books since the late 90's and I don't get bored. Giorgio Piola does an amazing job following the aero trends from race to race. I like how he even includes many of the reasons for developments, even if they are reverse-engineered. I couldn't give it 5 stars though because I was expecting it to have descriptions of more mechanical developments. Excellent book though, really gives an inside look at the technical developments

4 out of 5 stars F1 tech review   December 27, 2007

Very well illustrated book.

The book shows the different car body configurations for many of the different races which was outstanding. The level of detail was unbelievably detailed.

I was hoping it would go a little deeper into the technical side (i.e. the 'WHY' a team put this item or that...rather than just for aerodynamic reasons).

But it went into the major changes, rules behind them and effect it had on the races.

Highly recommend this book for F1 fans.
